Regina Greenwood, MA, LMHC

Regina Greenwood

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor whose primary focus is working with children and their families. I have a unique combination of experience which spans more than 30 years.

My work began in education. Fourteen years of this time, I served as the co-founder and/or director of two private schools. One school was specifically set up to support students who had difficulties with attention, socialization, and other learning challenges. Following that period, I spent more than six years as a school based mental health counselor and/or behavior consultant. Since in private practice, I have had the pleasure of incorporating adult clients into my work.

My Philosophy

Regardless of age, clients benefit from having a safe, supportive relationship in which they can feel free to express their feelings, gain necessary self-confidence, and try out more effective ways of thinking and behaving. I offer this type of environment as well as incorporating the client's strengths and interests into their treatment plan. With young clients and tweens, the use of age-appropriate therapeutic games and fun activities helps relieve anxiety and teach new skills in a non-threatening way. For parents and families, I offer support, a better understanding of your child's social and emotional needs, and specific strategies to help.

Keep me in mind when speaking with friends who may also benefit from my support. I look forward to meeting you and/or your family.
